Jersyelicious Style: Tracy

If you didnt see my post yesterday, I focussed on the Jerseylicious style of Olivia Blois Sharpe. Today, I will show you my favourite Gatsby salon stylist... Tracy Dimarco. Not many people like her, but I do. I do question her fashion choices smetimes, but overall, I thibnk she is pretty kickass :) Hope you enjoy!

Jerseylicious Style: Olivia

Im so happy to have Jerseylicious season 3 finally arrive. I love the show, and I especially love seeing what the Gatsby salon stylists wear each week. Here are a few looks from everyone's favourite, Olivia Blois Sharpe.

Angelina Jolie for Louis Vuitton "Core Values" ad campaign

Angelina Jolie is the latest star to pose for Louis Vuitton's "Core Values" ad campaign. A serene and sultry Angie (in her own clothes!) gazes off into the distance in Cambodia's Siem Reap province, a Louis Vuitton bag hanging off her shoulder. This ad was shot by world famous photographer Annie Leibovitz.

The Cambodian setting and "mother earth" vibe (Jolie wears natural makeup and her own clothes) is fitting for the actress, who found time in between making all those movies and adopting all those children to advocate for Cambodia on the international stage.

The "Core Values" ads, set to run for 18 months, will feature other celeb-humanitarians such as Bono. Curiously, the logo tote slung over Jolie's arm, Louis Vuitton's Alto bag, is a discontinued style. But Vuitton's executive vice president Pietro Beccari told WWD, "We are considering to re-edit it." Smart move.

Habits @ Cape Town Fashion Week

An array of sweet, fruity colours tailored into well hemmed suits which gradually graduated into billowing floral printed, colour-splashed maxis; let’s not forget thigh-high effects,halters and off shoulders. Effective colour blocking which suddenly disappeared and then it was an all white affair on the runway- knowing well that white as a choice of colour could be a hit or a miss, I loved what Habits did with the fabric. Again, the choice of colours used at habits were absolutely spot-on.

Dax Martin @ Cape Town Fashion Week

Dax Martin nailed this collection with beautiful prints from pixelated prints to digital prints and soft floral prints of the Japanese cherry blossom. I simply love that he is adding something different with these prints. I was really excited when I saw this collection. As someone who sees herself in the swimwear design field in the future, I can really admire his work and take notes. Loved this collection! I would say it was my second best next to Gavin Rajah!

Leigh Schubert @ Cape Town Fashion Week

I love Leigh Schubert's style. It's always so soft and feminine. Leigh Schubert’s spring/summer colour palettes featured brown, grey, musky pink, nudes and muted tones in sheers and silks. The garments showed off panelled designs, pleats and colour blocking revealing the contemporary woman who is unabashed and proud of her figure and femininity.

My Top 7 Favourite things for JULY!

This is something new that I started last month (June 2011). I'm quite enjoying sitting down and evaluating the many thing I love, lust, and obsess about! So here goes for July 2011...

1. I am OBSESSED with... CRIME SHOWS

Last month my obsession was the ITGIRL game on facebook, so this is the complete opposite of that. And truth be told, I've enjoyed crime shows on television for a while now. Its crazy how I can sit watching shows on the Crime & Investigation Network for hours and hours. And lets not forget CSI! I love all the CSI shows from Miami to New York. The Mentalist is also a favourite of mine. Love Love Love!

2. I love the brand...FOREVER NEW

You might have seen my first post on Forever New when they first came to South Africa. I loved their look. Well, I still do. Forever New has got to be the most inviting store in Gateway Shopping Centre (that's the mall I go to). Every time I walk pass there its like a voice is saying "Come in". I love the soft, feminine feel of the clothing. Blogging about it makes me wanna go shopping!!!

3. Style Icon... Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge

OK so I am really not into this whole obsession with the royals and what not. I really don't see what the fuss is. I get that she married a prince & that she is famous because of that. But people are even calling her sister Pippa a style icon just because she is exactly that, her sister. However, I did see Kate in a different light during her trip to America. Some of the pieces she wore were just stunning. I loved the McQueen dress she wore. But my favourite piece had to be the green DvF dress. WoW! And you know I love me some Diane von Furstenburg. It was styled really nicely as well. Well done Kate!

4. Blog of the month... Lee Folkard Photography

Last month  I chose a blog very similar to my style of blogging. This month I've decided to go for a photography blog. Still fashion related, just  a bit different. I love the pictures used in the blog. And the content is good too, with posts on proper under garments for photoshoots. Love this! Check it out!

5. Wishlist item... Adjustable Dress-making form*

I have wanted one of these since I was studying fashion design. And every time I decided I was going to buy one it just didn't happen. So fast-forward.. I still don't have one! I do see it in my future though!

6. Music Video.. Nicki Minaj - Super Bass

I cannot tell you how much I love this song, and especially the music video. I love the colours! It's just really fun, and very Nicki. Love it!!

7. iPhone / iPod Touch APP... BLOGlovin'

This one is a little sad for me, because my iPod Touch just went into repair the other day :( I dropped it & the screen shattered. Really sad to see. Anyhow, my favourite APP prior to its destruction was the Bloglovin' App. I love how easy it is to view all my favourite blogs on there. i actually find it a lot easier to navigate than on the pc. Love this!

Dr REY Lingerey...

Who knew everyone's favourite DR 90210 doc had his own line of lingerie?!

I was going through the pictures from Cape Town Fashion Week and came across his collection. At first I didn't even know who the designer was, I just thought the name was interesting. No doubt Dr Rey got some help from his wife Haley. Talk about multi-talented!

I like the collection a lot. Just wished he ditched the leather pants! Here are some pics...
